LOST ATLANTIS WAS "VARUN MAHALAYA PRADESH"
PULSES continue to be the part of STAPLE DIET in INDIA as in ATLANTIS…
Regarding eating habits of the Atlanteans, as Plato has told the following in Critias:

Clear inferrence can be drawn that Pulses accompanied with desserts were the staple diet of Atlanteans. Inspite of the Atlantis being a global maritime empire, we do not find Plato anywhere mentioning the use of fishes or other seafood as a part of their staple diet. Regarding the use of meat, Plato never says that Atlanteans were eating meat, rather he mentions that during very rare and occasional sacred rituals they were sacrificing the bull as offering and eating its burned meat as a sacrosant reciept. Obviously the Atlanteans were basically the Vegitarian type of peoples.
The shocking surprise shall be felt, when we understand that Plato has not even mentioned the use of Rice, Barley or Wheat as a part of the Atlantean staple diet. This queerish anomaly has to reflect on the ancient pre-historic timings of the formation and existence of the Atlantean Empire.
Looking in to the still prevalent modern perspective, we find that India continues to be the biggest traditional producer and consumer of the Pulses in the world.

Naturally the ancient Atlantean food habits are hard enough to die and are taking much larger time to change.
Pulses being the staple diet of Atlatis, is able to press hard the point that India was strongly related with Atlantis.
ATLANTIS WITHIN AND IN THE BACKGROUND OF LEMURIA:
Reading carefully Plato, we can understand that Poseidon (Varun) was already a God, when he came to Atlantis and married Cleito who was the daughter of Evanor and LuCippi.

So Evanor and LuCippi both were perhaps God and Goddess of ancient Monkey Totem at ancient East Indies. They happily wedded their daughter Cleito to God Poseidon (Varun).
As God Poseidon (Varun) came to Atlantis Proper from somewhere outside to build and settle Atlantis Proper, so he has to be originally a God of and from some other peoples. Looking in to pre-historical background, obviously Poseidon (Varun) came from so-called Lemuria.
We find that Poseidon (Varun) build the Atlantis Proper, but there were Nine other existing Kingdoms in Atlantis with their respective names, which were allotted to his sons. How these Nine Kingdoms were existing. Again obviously these had to be the ancient Lemurian Kingdoms in the vicinity and background of Atlantis Proper. If these all Ten huge Atlantean Kingdoms were physically not in proximity with each other, then it would have been very difficult to maintain their mutual unity and integrity for so long.
Curiously we know of one Atlantean Kingdom by name “Autochthon”. By this very name, it can be automatically understood that this Autochthon had to be the native and original Kingdom of Atlantis and even Lemuria. So it had to be the most powerful and original Kingdom of Lemuria. Also it had to be the Capital of ancient Lemuria. Accordingly it can also be implied that God Poseidon (Varun) came to Atlantis from Lemurian Autochthon.
It can also be understood that after the development of Atlantis Proper, the Autochthon might have been relegated to the second place in materialistic aspects. Fortunately I think, I have correlated this Lemurian and Atlantean Autochthon with Hastinapur and Indraprastha (New Delhi).
